Yorkshire Covid business grants figures revealed

New figures reveal that less than 25% of millions of pounds in Covid business grants have been paid out by Calderdale Council. Regeneration chief Councillor Jane Scullion stated: “The council intends to fully allocate the Government funding by [March 31]. We’ve recently extended the discretionary scheme to cover a wider range of businesses and further grants, including some substantial payments, are expected to be issued shortly.” Leeds City Council has paid £8.7m of the £22.9m it was allocated under the scheme.
